Sandra Fann is one of Canada's most gifted and eclectic interpreters of the harp. Her innovative repertoire includes fresh arrangements of standards, current popular songs, traditional melodies, original compositions, and sensitive interpretations of the classics. In the field of popular music, she is recognized as an inventive performer and a talented arranger. A classically-trained musician, Sandra studied at the University of Illinois, the Cleveland Institute, and York University, as well as with noted harpists Carlos Salzedo and Judy Loman.

SOLO

Sandra is an inspired soloist whose sophisticated style is perfect for weddings, corporate and government receptions, private parties and special events. She has been showcased at the city's finest hotels, with long-term engagements at the Intercontinental, Sutton Place, and the Royal York. She has also appeared at such popular night spots as the Silver Dollar and the Free Times Cafe.

ENSEMBLE

The beauty of the harp in combination with other instruments in duo, trio or quartet ensembles enhances the atmosphere of any event, from formal receptions to lively celebrations. Available combinations include: harp and flute; harp and violin; harp, flute and violin/cello; harp, saxophone and bass.

HARP 2 HARP

The harp duo of Sandra Fann and Sharlene Wallace perform a delightfully diverse program ranging from Bach, Debussy, and Gershwin to Celtic airs and original compositions. Their dynamic interplay and high energy blend of musical influences have dazzled audiences at the CBC's Glenn Gould studio, at the recital hall of the North York Centre for the Performing Arts, on CBC Radio and at concerts throughout Ontario.

RECORDINGS

"Sandra Fann: Stardust," a CD/cassette collection of standards, contemporary classics and original songs, is enjoying popular and critical success. Sandra can also be heard with The Elmer Iseler Singers on "The Maple Leaf Forever: A Canadian Panorama" and on Steve Buck's latest CD, "Elegy."

FILM & TELEVISION

Sandra composed and performed the musical score for the prize-winning Canadian film "Ten Little Dumplings", and has made numerous television and film appearances including the Dini Petty Show, City TV's Breakfast Television, and Police Academy Four.
